Our reason for going to Utah was not a fun one. Matt's mom was in a coma and passed away Friday, December 19. Here is her obituary..Thanks to all who offered support for Matt, it is not a fun or easy experience losing a parent.
Lynne Bates Curtis Lougy
Lynne was born on Oct. 5, 1946, to Elman Bates Curtis and Madelyn Huffman Curtis. Lynne returned home to her Heavenly Father on Dec. 19, 2008. Being a lifelong member of the LDS Church, Lynne married her loving husband, Dennis Leroy Lougy on June 25, 1965, in the Salt Lake Temple.
Lynne is a beloved daughter of our Heavenly Father who has given her life in charity and service to others. She is mother, sister, friend, missionary, musician, a poet, a tender heart and a warm smile. Lynne enjoyed being a grandmother to all the children, in and out of her family. While in Utah, we decided it would be fun to take the kids to see the lights on Temple Square. Well, Northern Utah has this fabulous train that takes you from Nancy's area to SLC. We rode the train (Rielly was in heaven). We had lots of fun, unfortunately my camera died and Nancy's card rejected all the pictures we took at Temple Square. The train ride is all I have.
Holly, Amelia, Aunt Nancy, and Rielly. Freezing while waiting. It was COLD!

While in Utah we went and visted with Santa. Aunt Nancy, her nephew Patrick, Alexis, Rielly, and Amelia. I think the kids thought this Santa was a bit 'interesting'. They had fun though.
Rielly AKA 'Ralphie'-As Santa put it.
Alexis and Santa
Amelia not liking Santa, AT ALL!
Rielly, AKA 'Ralphie' showing us the coloring book from Santa.
Patrick and Rielly completely crashed out on the ride home.
Amelia covering her face because she hates stormy weather..poor kid was traumatized from the summer storm we drove through.
The other snow was Wednesday, Dec 17. This one shut down the city. Mainly because there are not snowplows here and it snowed enough to cancel school. This is the only good picture I got. In the picture is my tree in my front yard, it is not real happy to be cold and covered in snow. The white dots is snow, not a bad camera.
Yep, that's right, it's snowing!! Excitment for the kids, not so much for us that have to face the Las Vegas/California drivers. Heaven help us today!! It is beautiful and I don't miss it. However, it is a really nice change from the norm. But I will be happy for the sun again tomorrow or the next day! I will post pictures later after it accumalates a little more. Yes, it's sticking. Rielly will be so excited.
