Lynne Lougy

Posted by Wendi

Our reason for going to Utah was not a fun one. Matt's mom was in a coma and passed away Friday, December 19. Here is her obituary..Thanks to all who offered support for Matt, it is not a fun or easy experience losing a parent.

Lynne Bates Curtis Lougy

Lynne was born on Oct. 5, 1946, to Elman Bates Curtis and Madelyn Huffman Curtis. Lynne returned home to her Heavenly Father on Dec. 19, 2008. Being a lifelong member of the LDS Church, Lynne married her loving husband, Dennis Leroy Lougy on June 25, 1965, in the Salt Lake Temple.

Lynne is a beloved daughter of our Heavenly Father who has given her life in charity and service to others. She is mother, sister, friend, missionary, musician, a poet, a tender heart and a warm smile. Lynne enjoyed being a grandmother to all the children, in and out of her family. She led music and told stories as sister friendly in primary. Of all the titles, sweetheart, sweetie pie, honey and dear, the dearest is loving wife.

Lynne is survived by her husband Dennis and her six children; Karen, Bryan (Nancy Cragun), Sherri (Sifa Mahe), Deanna, Matthew (Wendi Draude), April May. She is also survived by her eight younger brothers and sisters. Her joy was complete with 13 grandchildren.

We love you our special angel, sister friendly, sweetheart, mom, sister and grandma, you are loved tremendously and will be missed.

Funeral services will be held on Dec. 23, at 1 p.m. at the LDS Tooele 4th ward, on the corner of 200 South and 200 West. A viewing will be held prior to services at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers a donation can be given at Zions Bank in Tooele in Lynne B. Lougy’s name.

Condolences can be sent to www.SereniCare.com.

The Train

Posted by Wendi

While in Utah, we decided it would be fun to take the kids to see the lights on Temple Square. Well, Northern Utah has this fabulous train that takes you from Nancy's area to SLC. We rode the train (Rielly was in heaven). We had lots of fun, unfortunately my camera died and Nancy's card rejected all the pictures we took at Temple Square. The train ride is all I have.

Holly, Amelia, Aunt Nancy, and Rielly. Freezing while waiting. It was COLD!

Pig tails for Amelia

We were all in SHOCK and amazement that Amelia actually let someone put her hair up. Nancy was able to do her hair. I won't lie and say it lasted all day, but it did last a good couple hours. We got pictures for proof.

The kids visit with Santa

Posted by Wendi

While in Utah we went and visted with Santa. Aunt Nancy, her nephew Patrick, Alexis, Rielly, and Amelia. I think the kids thought this Santa was a bit 'interesting'. They had fun though.
Rielly AKA 'Ralphie'-As Santa put it.

Alexis and Santa

Amelia not liking Santa, AT ALL!

Rielly, AKA 'Ralphie' showing us the coloring book from Santa.

Patrick and Rielly completely crashed out on the ride home.

Amelia covering her face because she hates stormy weather..poor kid was traumatized from the summer storm we drove through.

More snow!

Posted by Wendi

The other snow was Wednesday, Dec 17. This one shut down the city. Mainly because there are not snowplows here and it snowed enough to cancel school. This is the only good picture I got. In the picture is my tree in my front yard, it is not real happy to be cold and covered in snow. The white dots is snow, not a bad camera.

Here are some pictures of the snow..this is from the first snow Monday, Dec 15.
THe snow was just starting here:

This is all we got-enough for Rielly to play in.

Yep, that's right, it's snowing!! Excitment for the kids, not so much for us that have to face the Las Vegas/California drivers. Heaven help us today!! It is beautiful and I don't miss it. However, it is a really nice change from the norm. But I will be happy for the sun again tomorrow or the next day! I will post pictures later after it accumalates a little more. Yes, it's sticking. Rielly will be so excited.

ANYTHING! Still waiting on Michael's. Remember I talked about the infamous 'personality' test? Well apparantly all is well with that, they are STILL waiting on my background. All I can figure is that just what Wilton said, all the holiday hiring is backing up the background checkers. So, I'll let you all know, when I know. Still wish me some luck.

WILTON APPROVED!

Posted by Wendi

Well, I am officially Wilton approved. Now, I have to get Michael's approved. That will be the fun part. I guess I have to take a 'personality test' and the ever so fun 'background' check. Well, considering I have never had a problem with the law enforcement people, I guess I will be ok. I'll keep you posted. Hopefully Michael's hires me and I'll be good to go. Wish me luck!

HALLOWEEN!

The fun school parties

Posted by Wendi

Ok, if you are on Facebook, I have been talking about all the parties I somehow get involved in. We had back to back school parties yesterday. I had a blast with the kids and watching them have a great time was fun. Here are some pictures of the school parties.

ALexis' class. They had a real party. Holy cow! Tons of food and all sorts of fun. I think all teachers in Nevada are glad they have the day off today.

Rielly's Class Party. Kindergarten did a parade through the school, it was really cute. They were all so proud of their costumes and had a great time showing themselves off to the upper grade levels.

The Fall Festival

Alexis, Rielly, and Amelia. Imagine Amelia being cooperative and smiling through her binki. Go ahead imagine.

Alexis' idea of a pie eating contest..must eat every bite. She got creamed.

Rielly's idea of a pie eating contest..

Here are some pictures of the Fall Festival at the kids elementry school. We really did have a good time, until Metro showed up. Obviously teenagers feel it best to crash a party that was never intended for them in the first place. What part of ELEMENTRY school did they not understand? Oh, the Elementry part. Anyhow, we had a good time and I thought I would share some pictures.

News Flash-- that I am excited about!

Posted by Wendi

Hi,

Just got a response from Wilton, they want my portfolio and then hopefully I get hired as an instructor! I am really excited and kind of freakin' out too. Nerves. Just thought I would share. I will post pics of kids later from our Halloween excursions. Bye for now!

Bad Habit: PROCRASTINATION!!
Procrastination

Look up Procrastination in
Wiktionary, the free dictionary.Procrastination is a type of behavior which is characterized by deferment of actions or tasks to a later time. Psychologists often cite procrastination as a mechanism for coping with the anxiety associated with starting or completing any task or decision. [1] Psychology researchers also have three criteria they use to categorize procrastination. They believe that procrastination must be counterproductive, needless, and delaying.[2]

For an individual, procrastination may result in stress, a sense of guilt, the loss of personal productivity, the creation of crisis and the disapproval of others for not fulfilling one's responsibilities or commitments. These combined feelings can promote further procrastination. While it is normal for people to procrastinate to some degree, it becomes a problem when it impedes normal functioning. Chronic procrastination may be a sign of an underlying psychological or physiological disorder.

The word itself comes from the Latin word procrastinatus: pro- (forward) and crastinus (of tomorrow). The term's first known appearance was in Edward Hall's The Union of the Noble and Illustre Famelies of Lancastre and York, first published sometime before 1548.[3] The sermon reflected procrastination's connection at the time to task avoidance or delay, volition or will, and sin.

A funny for today...

Posted by Wendi

Matt's office is what I think is funny today. Just some background. Since as long as he has worked for his current company there has been somewhat of a fun rivalry between him and another coworker. They are always trying to out do each other at holiday time. So, Matt decorated his office for Halloween, I don't have those pics-sorry. So, coworker "monkey" up his office. Threw monkey signs and stuff on his decor. So in return he webs her doorway. So this is what he came into this morning. VERY FUNNY! I LOVE anyone who can prank my hubby, because he does it so much to everyone else! Here are the pictures. Happy Halloween!!

(Sorry I can't get the pictures to get bigger-you get the idea)
